Frequently Asked Questions

A) About Our Church

  1. Why there is a word "True" in our church name?
    • The word “True” refers to the true God, for God is true (Jer:10:10; Isa:65:16; Jn:17:3), and it shows that the church belongs to the true God.
    • Jesus has made known the true God (Jn:1:18 KJV), and is the true God himself (1 Jn:5:20). Jesus said, “I am the true vine” (Jn:15:1), and “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (Jn:14:6). The Bible also refers to the Lord Jesus as “the true light” (Jn:1:9), and as “holy and true” (Rev:6:10). So it is proper that Jesus be called “True Jesus.”
    • Because believers are branches of the true vine and they constitute the church—the body of Christ—the church is also the “True Church”. If the church belongs to the “True God” and the “True Jesus,” it is the “True Church.”
    • The True Jesus Church does not only bear the name of the true church. The Holy Spirit abides with the church to testify that this church preaches the truth and that it is indeed the true Church (Heb:2:3-4; Eph:1:13-14; Eph:2:22).
    • The name of TJC is in the Bible (Rev:19:11-16).  Please refer to the P.S. at the end of the questions.
      • The word True. “True”
Note that the Jesus and the church are not separable. Jesus and the church are one. The name on the rider, Jesus, denotes the name for the church with Jesus being the head. The name is Faithful and True. Spiritually, this means True.
      • The Word of God. “Jesus”
The name is The Word of God. (Rev:19:13). The Word God is Jesus. (Jn:1:1, Jn:1:14).
      • King of kings and Lord of lords. “Church”
The name is King of kings and Lord of lords. Of course, Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords, but the emphasis here is the name. Kings connotes baptized believers who have been sanctified. (See Rev:1:5-6; Rev:5:9-10). They are the victorious believers, the saints. The lords refer to the obedient believers, being led by the Lord, the Holy Spirit.
  2. If a person does not have the life time opportunity to come to know about the True Jesus Church, will he or she not able to go to heaven?

    • Even those who have not heard of the gospel are without excuse “because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them” through his creation (Rom:1:18-23). Not only so, God’s law is written in their hearts, and God will judge the secrets of men on this basis (Rom:2:15-16).
    • God rewards eternal life to those “who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality” (Rom:2:6-11). God is able to save the pagans who seek him just as he is able to save the believers in Old Testament times who never heard of Christ.
    • The Bible clearly states that Christ is the only Savior: “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts:4:12); “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (Jn:14:6). Even if the pagans who seek God will be saved, they are saved not by their paganism, but by the atoning work of Christ, who brought God’s grace and reconciliation to the world.
    • Although we do not know exactly how God will judge those who never heard of the gospel, we do know that God’s judgment is always just. He demands from everyone according to what they have been given (Lk:12:48).
    • We do not need to know how God will judge the pagans. Each person will have to be accountable to God on an individual basis. Instead of speculating about the salvation of the pagans, we need to be sure that we respond to the gospel we have heard (Heb:2:1-4).

B) Jesus the True God

  1. The same true God has always been there since the beginning.  So why there are some Old Testament laws/teachings that we shall abide today and some we don't.
    • The God’s law is righteous (Deu:4:1-10)
    • The function of the laws (Rom:7:7-17, Rom:10:4, Heb:10:1)
    • Jesus is the same always (Heb:13:8)
    • Mat:5:17-20
    • In Jesus, obey Jesus to be perfect (Mat:5:21-48)
  2. Bible says God is the ONLY one true God and Jesus Himself is God who came to the earth in flesh.  So, is Jesus disregarded other religions and being unreasonable?
    • God exists absolutely, and of necessity (Exo:3:14)
    • God is limitless (Isa:40:28)
    • God is one only (Deu:32:39, Deu:6:4; Isa:43:10-12, Isa:44:8, Isa:44:24,  Isa:45:5-7, Isa:45:14, Isa:45:18, Isa:45:21)
    • God is spirit (Jn:4:24)
    • God is transcendent and immanent (Eph:4:6)
    • The declaration of the Almighty God (Gen:17:1)

C) Holy Bible

  1. Isn't Bible texts written by human? So why we do claim Bible words are God's words? Are there any contradiction found within the Bible?
  • How do we know the Bible is God’s Word?
    • Its unity
    • Its historical and geographical accuracy
    • Its prophetic accuracy
    • Its scientific accuracy (Isa:40:22; Job:26:7; Jer:33:22)
    • Its fulfillment of promises
  • Man’s pen but by inspiration of God (2 Tim:3:15-17)
  • Rom:15:4
  • Prophecy is from God (2 Pe:1:20-21)

D) Holy Spirit

  1. Why praying in Holy Spirit produces strange sounds?  It seems like praying in tongue scares truth seekers away?
    • The Spirit gave them utterance (Acts:2:1-4)
    • A sound came from heavenà gave them the utterance to speak in tongues
    • The sound of God is like a noise of many waters (Ezk:43:2, Rev:1:15, Rev:14:2, Rev:19:6)
    • Besides the sound it came with a rushing mighty windà movement of the body (Jn:3:8
    • Holy Spirit scares people away? No, it’s because the people does not know God, if people knows God he will pray for the abidance of Holy Spirit and receive the Joy (Jn:14:16-20; Jn:16:20-22)
  2. Why shall we kneel down when we pray to God?
    • The secret of Abram to be perfect is falling on his face before the Almighty God (Gen:17:1-8
    • The example of Jesus Christ (Luk:22:41)—fall on his face (Matt:26:39; Mk:14:35)
    • The example of apostles (Acts:7:60, Acts:9:40, Acts:21:5)

E) Sabbath Day

  1. How do we know Sabbath day does not fall on Sunday? Why Sabbath worship is on Saturday?
  • God set the day and made known to Moses (Exo:16:23-30)
  • The Lord Jesus observed the Sabbath day (Luk:4:16; Luk:13:10; Mk:6:2). So it should be beyond doubt that the day had not been lost up to Jesus’ time.
  • The apostles confirmed the Sabbath kept by the Jews (Acts:15:21). Paul himself also kept the Sabbath (Acts:13:13-14; Acts:16:13; Acts:17:1-2; Acts:18:4).
  • During the same period, sun worshippers observed Sunday and Sunday worship was later brought into the church. Yet the Jews were still keeping the Sabbath (7th day). Both practices have been observed until today.
  • Although the Jews have been dispersed to different parts of the world, they all have been keeping the Sabbath on the same day even until today.
  • The seven-day week is found in many countries around the world since ancient times, and the days are the same from country to country.
  • God, the creator of the Sabbath as well as the universe, would not have allowed His sacred day to be lost.

F) Salvation

  1. If I can gain salvation by believing in Christ. Why shall I be part of a church organization?
  • Jesus says, “Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” (Matt:7:21).
  • “But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say?” (Luk:6:46).
  • What is His will? His will is (among other teachings) through His church, people are saved. Thus, the Bible undoubtedly charges that the church is the body of Jesus (Eph:1:22-23; Acts:20:28, Acts:2:47)
  • Without being the part of the body, how can a person be saved? No way!
  • The Bible plainly affirms that the church is the pillar and the ground of the truth. (1 Tim:3:15). “--- the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church ---” (Eph:3:10).
  • Our faith must be built upon the foundation of the apostles and Jesus Christ being the corner stone (Eph:2:20).
  • Believers who form the church can only be truly united by the truth (among other teachings) preached by the church, according to the Bible.

G) Servitude

  1. A sincere truth seeker has offered help to do church work such as cooking, playing piano, singing in choir presentation, performing music presentation and others? Can he or she be allowed to participate in the holy work? If not, why?
  • Sincerity doesn’t mean holiness. To serve God requires holiness, just with a sincere heart only is not enough. Refer to how those spiritual creatures serve God before the throne”
    • Key verses: Isa:6:2-8, Rev:4:4-6; Rev:14:1-5, Rev:7:9-17
  • The remission of sins is the key to be holy—wear a white garment (Rev:3:4, Rev:6:11, Rev:7:14, Rev:19:8).
  • The church is the house of God; the work in the church is called holy work because it is related to God who is holy.
  • Encourage the truth seeker to fully understand the salvation and make determination to be baptized first, and then participate in the church works.

P.S.

True Jesus Church--The One True Church in the Bible

The church qualifying to be the One True Church in the Bible must contain certain Biblical criteria. These include the Truth, the Holy Spirit, God’s power (to perform miracles) and the name of the church.

  1. The One True Church must be the pillar and ground of the Truth.  (1 Tim:3:15).
The Truth must be 100% according to the Bible.
  2. The One True Church must have the Holy Spirit.
    • The Spirit is truth .” (1 Jn:5:6).  Our salvation demands both the Truth and the Holy Spirit.
    • “But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth,” (2 Thes:2:13).
    • The One True Church needs the Holy Spirit to forgive sins. (Jn:20:21-23). (Matt:16:19). (1 Cor:6:11). (1 Cor:12:13).
    • The presence of the Holy Spirit confirms God’ abidance in us. (1 Jn:3:24).
    • We need the Holy Spirit to sanctify us. (Rom:15:16).
    • We need the Holy Spirit to belong to Him. (Rom:8:9).
  3. The One True Church must have God’s power.
    • Confirmation from God. (Jn:3:1-2; Jn:5:36, Jn:10:37-38). (2 Cor:12:12).
    • Miracles testifying the Truth preached. (Mk:16:20). (Acts:14:3; see also Heb:2:3-4).
    • Miracles attracted many to believe. (Act:5:12-16). (Rom:15:19).
    • One may ask “Why ‘churches’ without the Perfect Gospel can sometime perform miracles?” The answer is miracles can happen in three different situations.
      • God works miracles in the One True Church
      • Out of love and mercy, God can perform miracles when one still does not know the Truth. (Matt:5:45). (Mk:9:36-40). Note: physical healing, etc do not promise salvation.
      • Satan also performs miracles though with limitation. (Exo:7:11-12, Exo:8:6-7). (2 Thes:2:9-10).
  4. The One True Church in the Bible is the True Jesus Church.

The True Jesus Church can be seen in Revelation. “And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.” (Rev:6:2). The rider is Jesus for He is always victorious. The white horse is the Church for Jesus is the head and leader of the Church. Like a rider riding a horse, Jesus directs the Church. The same white horse and the rider appear again in Rev Chapter 19.

    • The word True.
The Jesus and the church are not separable. Jesus and the church are one. The name on the rider, Jesus, denotes the name for the church with Jesus being the head. The name is Faithful and True. Spiritually, this means True. “Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.” (Rev:19:11).
    • The Word of God.
The name is The Word of God. “He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.” Rev:19:13). The Word God is Jesus. (See Jn:1:1, Jn:1:14).
    • King of kings and Lord of lords.
The name is King of kings and Lord of lords. Of course, Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords, but the emphasis here is the name. “And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: King of kings and Lord of lords.” (Rev:19:16). Kings connotes baptized believers who have been sanctified. (See Rev:1:5-6; Rev:5:9-10). They are the victorious believers, the saints. The lords refer to the obedient believers, being led the Lord, the Holy Spirit.

Believers alone cannot establish the Church. Jesus requires believers to constitute the Church. Plainly, both the King and the kings, so as the Lord and the lords are indispensable to form the Church. Therefore, King of kings and Lord of lords mean the Church. So the name is True Jesus Church.
